| You may be thinking to yourself: I wonder why I didn't read those quotations by prominent liberals in my local newspaper or see them reported on television. You can imagine the attention they would have received had they been uttered or written by conservatives! The Propaganda Machine would have risen up in righteous indignation, to give glaring publicity to such outrages. The ranting and raving would last for weeks. Maybe Months. But when foolish or unreasonable thought originates with liberals, the Propaganda Machine concludes such utterances are wholly unnewsworthy. Apparently liberal nonsense is "protected" speech, while conservative nonsense is heralded and harangued with hoots or horror! But what's worse, far worse: Suppose when a liberal makes an assertion as offensive as many of those reproduced here, suppose he or she really means it! Suppose liberals are indeed in favor of expanded government and contracted freedom. Suppose they favor giving preference to bugs, swamps, and weeds over the needs, even lives of human beings. Suppose they consider property rights dispensable. Suppose these people willingly, eagerly embrace socialism and communism as replacements for capitalism. If you listen closely to their rhetoric, I'm afraid you'll find many of our liberal friends are indeed willing, often anxious, to relinquish our freedom, the most precious gift ever bestowed upon a people, to an omnipotent government, and to allow this nation's proud and honorable citizens to be transformed into servitude. |
