Friend-of-Freedom Awards

These awards have been established by the Gielow Family Foundation to recognize and honor those individuals and/or groups who, in the judgement of the Board of Directors, are particularly deserving for their dedication to the cause of freedom in America today.

It's gratifying to note there are many individuals and groups deserving of these Awards; individuals and groups striving tirelessly on behalf of American traditions and ideals to right wrongs, alert the public to the enemies of freedom, and influence policy so this country can be returned to its foundation of conservative principles.

Friend-of-Freedom Awards are intended to give particular attention to individuals and groups who, to date, have received insufficient recognition for their dedication, sacrifice, and service.

The world is a better place because of the work these people do and have done. They are inspirations for other Americans who long for, and strive to make our country, a place where freedom once again flourishes, indeed, where freedom reigns.

YEAR 2001 FRIEND-OF-FREEDOM AWARD WINNER

The following award was presented during the Freedom 21 Conference at the St. Louis Airport Marriott Hotel July 13th by Gielow Family Foundation president Fred Gielow. All 2001 recipients, except Mr. Irvine and Representative Paul, were in attendance at the conference. (A death in his family prevented Representative Paul from attending.)

Reed Irvine

Reed Irvine

For his tireless dedication to the search for truth, his dogged determination to disseminate the truth, and his noble enterprises: Accuracy In Media with its AIM Report and Accuracy In Academia with its Campus Report. Clearly, without information that is accurate and truthful, citizens are deceived and unable to make informed and proper judgements about their leaders, the major issues of the day, and indeed, the fate of the country. Reed Irvine is an American treasure and his many years of unselfish service contribute mightily to the cause of freedom.
