The Gielow Family Foundation
is an institute established for the purpose of making charitable contributions to conservative endeavors.



Mission Statement


The Gielow Family Foundation is dedicated to making charitable countributions to a variety of conservative endeavors, all of which qualify for 501(c)(3) tax designation. The Gielow Family Foundation itself qualifies for 501(c)(3) status. The phrase "conservative endeavors" means those organizations, institutes, associations, and other entities which in the eyes of the board of directors advance the values of family, freedom, patriotism, truth, equal opportunity, and equal justice.



Purpose

The Gielow Family Foundation is established:

  • To advance the causes of family, freedom, patriotism, truth, equal opportunity, and equal justice.
  • To create a formalized giving program for funds donated to the foundation by the founder.
  • To provide a mechanism by which charitable giving to conservative endeavors may outlive the founder and provide a means of support to conservative endeavors indefinitely.
  • To instill in the founder's sons and succeeding generations a sensitivity to the founder's perspectives and wishes regarding charitable giving to conservative endeavors.
  • To allow the donation decision-making process to be shared by family menbers and to make the founder's charitable giving more of a family affair.



    Donation Perspective

    Listed in this table are donations Fred Gielow made to a variety of 501(c)(3) organizations during 1998 and 1999. The Gielow Family Foundation was not active during that time. It became active during the middle of 2000 and consequently its donations didn't begin until the latter part of that year.



    Board of Directors

    Members of the board of directors in addition to the founder (Fred Gielow) are his two sons, Bob and Tim, and his brother, Jim.



    First Official Meeting of the Board of Directors (First Annual Meeting) -- October 22, 2000.
    Second Official Meeting of the Board of Directors (Second Annual Meeting) -- October 20, 2001.
    Third Official Meeting of the Board of Directors (Third Annual Meeting) -- May 4, 2002.
    Fourth Official Meeting of the Board of Directors (Fourth Annual Meeting) -- December 27, 2003.
    Fifth Official Meeting of the Board of Directors (Fifth Annual Meeting) -- September 12, 2004.

    Subsequent to the September 12th meeting,
    the Directors voted to discontinue the Gielow Family Foundation
    .




    Friend-of-Freedom Awards

    During 2001, the board of directors established Gielow Family Foundation Friend-of-Freedom Awards. The first awards were presented at the Freedom-21 Conference in St. Louis, July 13, 2001.
