MUST-READ EXCERPTS

Excerpts from writings of interest to all.

"The environmental movement is not what you think it is. It's not about the environment. It's about power. Political power."

"The environmental movement is . . . using political power right now to eliminate the resource industries we all rely on for our material goods -- food, clothing, shelter and every other physical product we use every day."

"[The] W. Alton Jones Foundation and the Bullitt Foundation and others are giving millions to dozens of little anti-mining groups to shut down every mine in America -- and prevent any new ones. . . ."

"[T]he Pew Charitable Trusts and the Rockefeller Family Fund are giving millions to groups that want to remove all dams in America . . . ."

"There is no natural resource in America -- water, timber, minerals, petroleum, livestock, agriculture -- that is not under attack by foundations, environmental groups, and federal bureaucrats."

"[R]ural America is suffering unprecedented misery -- all caused by federal policy decisions to stop logging, mining, ranching and farming operations, all supposedly to save nature."

[Have you even noticed that political correctness now trumps the truth? We can't talk about blacks in other than glowing terms, because if we do, their feelings will be hurt, and we'll immediately be branded as racist. Well, a new book, Taboo: Why Black Athletes Dominate Sports and Why We're Afraid to Talk About It, has dared to step over the line. Here are excerpts from two book reviews.]

(1) "Blacks are 13 percent of the U.S. population but are: 80 percent of professional basketball players, 65 percent of professional football players, one-third of professional baseball players, and 70 percent of woman's professional basketball players."

"All of the thirty-two finalists in the last four Olympic men's 100-meter races are of West African descent. The probability of such an outcome by chance is 0.00000000000000000000000000000001 percent. . . . No African American has ever qualified for the U.S. Olympic swim or dive team."

(2) "[B]lacks dominate many sports because they have a genetic edge."

"[A]s long ago as 1939, Eleanor Metheny of Iowa state University looked into sports biology and found that blacks had longer arms and legs, a shorter trunk, narrower hips, and heavier bones than whites. . . We now know that West African blacks have more muscle, less fat, hands relatively longer than forearms, and feet relatively longer than lower legs (which are relatively longer than thighs). They have higher serum testosterone levels, which increases muscle mass and aggressiveness, and smaller chest and lung capacities, which is why they wear out at longer (running) distances. . . The best whites can jump straight up [is] 50 percent of their height; blacks can go over 60 percent."

"Why can't the country admit what everyone knows and make it official? The problem -- and the answer to the question in the book's subtitle -- is that honesty about athletics could lead to honesty about intelligence."

"On average, states that ban concealed firearms have a murder rate 127 percent higher than states that permit concealed carry using the most liberal carry laws in the nation. . . ."

"Gun Owners of Utah points out that the over 30,000 concealed carry permit holders in the state have not shot at or killed anyone since the concealed carry law was liberalized in 1995."

"According to the statistics gathered by [More Guns, Less Crime: Understanding Crime and Gun-Control Laws author John] Lott, a one-percent increase in firearm ownership reduces violent crime by 4.1 percent. . . ."

"In 1997, there were 22 children aged 5 and under killed in gun accidents. That compares to 600 children killed by accidental drowning the same year."

"Data from the National Center for Health Statistics shows there was a 12 percent increase in fatal firearms accidents in California in 1994, the year California mandated the use of trigger locks."

"[A] study shows that zero percent of children who obtain guns legally from their parents commit gun crimes. It also shows that 24 percent of children who obtain guns illegally commit gun crimes."

"In June, 2000, the United Religious Initiative will hold a World Religious Forum to announce the formation of the United Religious Order, a one-world religion, patterned after the UN. The leaders have boldly announced it will be used to further the political and economic goals of the UN. . . ."

"In May, 2000, hundreds of NGOs [Non-Governmental Organizations, like the Sierra Club, World Wildlife Fund, etc.] calling themselves the 'Peoples Forum' will meet to put the final touches on the World Charter, which is destined to replace the present UN Charter. . . This World Charter vastly changes the present voluntary participation process [countries voluntarily complying with U.N. directives], and makes participation mandatory. It also increases the UN authority over all nations, rendering national sovereignty, including the U.S. Constitution useless. . . It is speculated that as the last official act of President Clinton, he will sign the World Charter, relinquishing our national sovereignty to the world government as a means of improving his chances of becoming the first World Premier."

WHAT'S IT GOING TO COST YOU?
How much are you going to have to pay to implement the United Nations' Agenda 21?

The Finance Caucus of the NGO [Non-Governmental Organizations] Steering Committee to the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development recently issued a draft document laying out some of the "needs" and some of the proposed means for meeting them. This Steering Committee is a "global coalition of NGOs and major groups working for sustainable development at the United Nations." Their draft report, entitled "New Financial Mechanisms for Sustainable Development - Green Taxes for Global Needs?" submitted to the United Nations, states:

"To assure sustainable development as identified in Agenda 21, governments agreed that new and additional resources were needed from developed countries. Agenda 21 recognized that it would take $625 billion a year to implement the agreement. This would include a transfer of $125 billion a year from north to south." The transfer from north to south [rich nations to poor nations] may well be the transfer of your job to someone south of the border.

As the report pointed out, Agenda 21, or Sustainable Development, is just one of the UN's money hungry agendas: "In fact, Sustainable Development is only one set of the many competing new demands for international money. Advocates of peacekeeping, refugees, development, etc, all want or need more financial resources."

Some large cities report that up to 87% of their drug arrests are now illegal aliens mostly from Mexico. . . . The U.S. Border Patrol now has an armed patrol agent for every 475 feet of the 66 mile border in San Diego county (2,200 armed agents plus support personnel), yet over 5,000,000 illegal aliens slipped by them in 1998 and remain in the U.S. in 1999. Unofficial USBP estimates are that fewer than 25% of these 2,200 agents are ever on or near the border engaged in their primary duty assignment at any given time. . . . There will be another Mexico peso devaluation. Probably after December 2000 when President Zedillo's term ends. Today's flood of aliens and drugs from Mexico may only be a trickle in comparison. . . . There are approximately 5,000 NAFTA maquiladoras ("twin factories") in Mexico as of March 26, 1999, including 740 plants in Baja, California (mostly in Tijuana and Mexicali, but a few in Tecate and elsewhere). The average wage ($US) paid in these plants is $.37 per hour. The Mexico minimum wage is $.41 per hour ($3.30 per day) in the northern Mexico border regions ($.30 less elsewhere). . . . Approximately 75% of the illegal drugs in the U.S.A. originate in Mexico, or pass through Mexico, and enter the U.S.A. across the U.S.A. / Mexico International Border. . . . [W]e in the U.S. incur $12.28 billion dollars in drug related costs for every $10.00 billion dollars of NAFTA exports we ship to Mexico. . . . Most illegals keep trying until they get across the border. In their efforts some may get two or more rides at taxpayers' expense on the U.S.B.P. buses to Tijuana, Mexico. But at least 99.2% get through. . . . Over 10 million legal immigrants will arrive in the U.S. this decade likely making it the highest population growth decade in U.S. history. Do we really need the additional 7 1/2 million illegal aliens coming to the U.S. per year as well?

"Let there be no mistake. the World Trade Organization, NAFTA, Most-Favored-Nation trade status for Red China, and similar trade instruments are simply schemes to evade U.S. laws. In fact, they are designed to enrich the evaders while victimizing those who abide by the laws. . .

"[T]he failure of free trade among the independent thirteen original U.S. colonies forced a meeting in Philadelphia in 1787, where a protectionist document, the U.S. Constitution, was drafted. . . .

"We disregarded economic laws that tell us production (that is, the labor of the people) is the origin of all wealth and tax revenues, whereas consumption dissipates wealth.

"Beyond those financial horrors, the free trade hoax ravaged the lives of more than 10 million law-abiding Americans. They lost their jobs, their homes, their families, their pensions, their health. Urban industrial areas were decimated. Our tax base was sabotaged, and the social fabric was torn apart, creating the widest polarization between rich and poor since the great depression. And, it transformed America from the largest creditor nation to the world's biggest debtor nation."

[With all this fawning going on over Cuba, it's instructive to take a look at what Cuba has accomplished over the last 40 or so years.] "In 1957, Cuba's per capita GNP was more than double that of Taiwan. Taiwan had 50 percent more people crowded into an area less than a third the size of Cuba. Both countries were mainly dependent on sugar production and exports, but Cuba had much more arable land and significant mineral resources. Its export earnings were nearly five times those of Taiwan. Castro seized control of Cuba in January 1959, promising to restore constitutional government, but declaring that he was satisfied with Cuba's economic system. He proceeded to impose a communist dictatorship that has been a disaster for Cuba, impoverishing its people. By 1996, Taiwan had been transformed into an industrial powerhouse. Its per capita GDP was $14,700, ten times that of Cuba. Its exports totaled $116 billion compared to Cuba's $2.1 billion. Taiwan had 4.3 million passenger cars. Cuba had 16,500. Life expectancy in Taiwan was higher and infant mortality lower in Taiwan than in Cuba. In 1957, Cuba, under Batista, was a better place to live than Taiwan, but under Castro, over a million Cubans abandoned their homes and fled in search of freedom and a better life. The people of Taiwan found both without leaving home. Today, it is a far better place to live than Cuba under Castro."

"The churches have been deceived into asking the State for the privilege to operate as a church. In other words, the articles of incorporation are granted by the State as a privilege to be a church. Does that sound like separation of church and state? If the State grants a privilege, it also has strings attached. One of these strings is that the State has the right to examine all records. The State can also withdraw its privilege as it sees fit. What has really happened is our churches are State churches if they incorporate under State law. Tax exemptions become a carrot on a stick to entice the church to come under control of the State."

"In their little 1972 book 'None Dare Call It Conspiracy,' Gary Allan and Larry Abraham provided readers with 14 'signposts to slavery' -- significant events to watch for, as indicators that even a free country might be moving gradually toward totalitarianism -- a list initially compiled by Dr. Warren Carroll, a refugee from Yugoslavian communism.

"Nothing on the list had been made law in America at the time, and many readers thought it absurd that the authors felt the need to warn Americans to watch out for restrictions on setting up bank accounts or taking money out of the country; abolition of private ownership of handguns; requirements that private financial transactions be keyed to Social Security numbers so records can be fed into government computers; compulsory non-military service; compulsory registration with the government of where individuals work; attempts to restrict freedom of movement within the United States; any attempt to make major new laws by executive decree, and so forth.

"Buried among Dr. Carroll's 14 warnings was another that must have seemed pretty obscure and far-fetched in 1972: Americans were advised to watch out for 'compulsory psychological treatment for non-government workers or public schoolchildren.' [N]ow even readers of the sports pages are coming face to face with this newfangled psychiatric orthodoxy -- the notion that the proper solution to any tasteless or offensive behavior [i.e.: John Rocker's comments] is to 'medicalize' the problem."

"Government ownership of and regulation of the lands and resources of a nation have never in history provided for a free society, nor for a productive one. (Editor's note: Even today in Russia, after the recent 'democratic' revolution, the government owns all of the land. The Russian citizens cannot own land in Russia.) Taking productive resources and lands away from citizens under the guise of 'protecting' the environment is simply a method by which the government steals power for itself."

Doctors vs. Guns (A different View)

A recent article in the (Seattle) Washington Post-Intelligence concerning accidental deaths caused by physicians (from research of Laura Key USA), triggered a chain of thought that resulted in a person cruising the web for some statistics and doing a few calculations:
  • Number of physicians in the US = 700,000
  • Accidental deaths caused by physicians/year = 120,000
  • Accidental deaths/physician = 0.171
  • Number of gun owners in US = 80,000,000
  • Number of accidental gun deaths/year (all age groups) = 1500
  • Accidental deaths/gun owner =.0000188

Therefore, doctors are approximately 9000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

"A decade of preparation will culminate in the year 2000, in a massive celebration and series of events, carefully designed to change the world forever. The United Nations' Millennium Forum, Assembly, and Summit have been planned to set the world on a course of global governance under the authority of the United Nations. The new scheme of global governance will empower, and fund, the United Nations to be the supreme governmental authority on the planet. . . . [T]he 'Millennium Forum,' [is] scheduled for May 22-26, 2000, in New York. [It] will be followed in September by the U.N. Millennium Assembly, which will consist primarily of the Millennium Summit, the largest gathering of the heads of state in the history of the world. The purpose of the summit is to consider, and possibly adopt, the documents necessary to implement global governance as envisioned and planned by the United Nations. The Millennium events were authorized by the U.N. General Assembly in resolution 53/202, December 17, 1998. There was little publicity; no one noticed. . . . The world is at the threshold of world government. Most of the people of the world do not know it, yet they will be its subjects. There is very little reason to think that these efforts will not be successful. There is virtually no organized resistance, and the resistance that has been identified is ridiculed, and even labeled by the FBI and the Department of Justice as potential terrorists. Only a handful of Congressmen know about the events here described, and some of those who do know are advocates of global governance."

"Norma McCorvey is the anonymous 'Jane Roe' of Roe v. Wade. A former lesbian, drug addict, and militant pro-abortionist, she is now a Christian pro-life advocate. In 1969, Norma was seeking an abortion. She was a ninth-grade dropout and a drug and alcohol abuser who had given up her first two children to adoption. She was convinced by radical feminist attorneys Sarah Weddington and Linda Coffey to be the lead plaintiff in an abortion suit flied against the state of Texas. Weddington and Coffey assured Norma that the case would both help her and greatly advance women's rights. The truth is, they could have helped Norma get an abortion, but that would have damaged their 'cause.' They needed her as a symbol of poor, pitiable, destitute women who were being denied a fundamental 'right.' So they manipulated and exploited Norma for their hidden agenda. Norma was not raped, and she was not denied an abortion by Texas law. And she, in fact, did not get an abortion; she carried her third baby (a girl) to term and then gave her up for adoption. On January 21, 1998, Miss McCorvey testified before the Senate Subcommittee on the Constitution, Federalism and Property Rights. She said: 'The affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court didn't happen the way I said it did, pure and simple. I lied!. . . . I think it's fair to say that the entire abortion industry is based on a lie.'"

"The World Trade Organization (WTO) is not about free trade. As a category, 'free trade' has become a convenient way to hide an agenda for central control of world markets. Any free market economist can tell you that one doesn't need a truck trailer full of regulations to define the rules of free trade. One simply knocks down trade barriers and allows commerce between willing parties to take place. No protection for those who venture into unknown and dangerous trade waters. No subsidies for those who make bad deals. No regulations to make the playing field 'fair.' Such risks come with real free trade. Consequently commerce has a way of regulating itself. It's called a free market.
"The WTO does the opposite. It creates the 'rules of engagement' for global commerce. It sets up elaborate rules and regulations concerning labor management, environmental policy, international shipping, marketing practices and punishments for those who break the rules. The WTO, combined with the financial power of the World Monetary Fund and the organizing structure of the United Nations, is a major player in the drive for global governance. In short, the WTO is a threat to sovereignty and national independence."

Bush and Jeb Bush flying in to Tamiami Airport outside of Miami, Fla., to pick up a couple of kilos of [cocaine] powder for a party. . . . [They] flew in on the family owned King Air to pick up the cocaine themselves. . . . "Sometimes an issue is so obvious and simple that the only person in the world who can make it seem complex is a Washington policy expert. This column is about such an issue. It is called the sovereignty of the United States. It revolves around one question: Who decides, us or somebody else?" [The answer is found in Article 16-4 of the World Trade Organization Charter, quoted with Mr. Jeffrey's piece:] "Each member shall ensure the conformity of its laws, regulations, and administrative procedures with its obligations as provided in the annexed [WTO] agreements. No reservations may be made in respect to any provision of this agreement." [Thus, we Americans can no longer decide our own fate; the WTO will do it for us.]
