Elusive over eons were the fruits of freedom's reign.
Their quest through generations was a valiant quest in vain.
Through tyranny, oppression, faith and hope were kept alive.
Faith and hope that freedom, if established, would then thrive.

The emperors and monarchs throughout time have looked askance
At freedom's call. A people, free? The people rule? No chance!
The ruling class would not relinquish power, no sirree!
And so it was: the people were not destined to be free.

There came a time, however, when believers could not pray
According to their consciences. They had to find a way
To serve their own religion and be faithful to its call.
They left their homes and neighborhoods, their families, friends, all.

They took to ships and to the sea, enduring hardship, strife
To find in new lands freedom, and a new, free way of life.
Yet ties to homeland did prevail and as the years went by,
They found the reach of kings would soon their freedoms nullify.

They knew for independence, that a battle must be fought,
That only through a battle would their freedom then be bought.
So many fortunes, honors, lives – invested in the cause,
To build a nation, not on regal reach; instead, on laws.

The war was brutal. Men endured both sacrifice and death.
They pledged a free America, some with their final breath.
Through acts of courage, dedication, freedom won the day.
Americans, triumphant: thankful, humble, free were they.

Free markets, rule of law, and opportunity arrived.
With freedom, this new nation grew, and this new nation thrived.
The Constitution carefully was crafted to ensure
The people in their freedom would forever be secure.

But those of mischief, treachery had something else in mind,
And regal rule with them in charge was what they then designed.
The Constitution and its laws – they just could not afford.
So then, the Constitution and its laws – were just ignored.

The sacred Tenth Amendment says all powers not conferred
Directly to the government, will be now, rest assured,
Reserved for just the people, for it is the people's right.
But soon, for some, the Tenth Amendment faded out of sight.

And there is now a broad attack that threatens freedom's call.
A strong assault that threatens to remove our freedoms – all.
Free markets, rule of law, and also private property
Are under siege, as you all know, by government decree.

So now the call goes out across our great and noble land
For those who love our freedom, as we knew it once, to stand.
To raise a call for countrymen from sea to shining sea
To fight the cause for freedom once again, so men are free.

We have a fearsome battle, for our foes are fierce and strong.
The battle will be bloody, yes. The battle will be long.
But what is life if those in power choose to freedom quell?
Like long ago, we'll find our lives become a living hell!

So join the brave, the patriots, those answering the call
To man the battle stations, take your place along the wall.
We cannot yield, nor compromise our freedom's precious gift.
If we relent the slightest, our repression will be swift.
